This morning a sleepy eyed, bed headed little girl pushed her little face close to mine and softly made one simple request, "Can you fix Brown Bear?" Brown Bear is her favorite stuffed animal and has been with us since B was two. Reaching for the light I asked her what was wrong with him. She then pointed out two small holes in his leg and one on in his arm. I smiled and said of course I can fix him. I soon discovered all I had was pink thread. I asked her if that was okay to use. She smiled sweetly and handed him to me. Knowing no one will be able to see the thread once I am done was reassuring to her. Together we fixed him. Her sleepy face slowly turned to a smile. She thanked me with lots of kissed and hugs. The best payment ever. I snapped a photo after the operation. I think Brown Bear will be with us for years to come.
